Is there anything you feel too old to do anymore?
I remember looking forward to growing up and imagining myself getting ready for the club. Not only did I see it in movies but it just seemed like this experience that was out of reach…until it wasn’t…

I have to admit the ‘clubbing experience’ was just a way of spending time with your friends, blowing off some steam and dancing to good music. Clubbing now? Aged 26? DEAD. Queuing? Dead. Spending money I’m trying to save on overpriced drinks? Dead. My ass feeling cold the minute I step outside given the fact I’ve just spent 4 hours pressed up against strangers to do, guess what? MORE QUEUING! Queuing for drinks, to use the toilet, to spend money putting your stuff in the cloakroom = DEAD. *note the word Dead is slang for ‘not for me’ ‘this shit is not the one’ ‘no thanks’

Also, no one tells you that after 23, no one wants to go clubbing anymore which makes the whole process of actually planning something that much more difficult. The music isn’t that great anymore and now you can just play a great playlist in your home, using your speakers for free.
Nowadays, the vibe is more just spending time with friends at festivals and going out for drinks 🥂🍸🍹I do think when you’re at Uni, you follow the idea that you’re ‘supposed’ to be clubbing and because it’s cheap and close to home – why not? BOY when you graduate, it is not the case. Everywhere is just a trek especially when you’re trying to get home, you feel you have to be with the right ‘group’ of people when you’re out on a night out and now, no one cares if you can dance or not (this hurts my feelings).

In your mid/late twenties, you’re no longer going to just spend time with your friends…you are now surrounded by people who are too young or too old for what is considered your ‘dating pool’.
Those of you who still go out and go clubbing…let me ask you this…WHY? (Cos I lowkey miss it)
